The prices of fuel have been rising along with our awareness of their toxicity to our atmosphere.  With over 1 billion cars on the road, we’ve hit an all time record in car pollution.  While technology is advancing to create the consumer availability to attain alternatives, such as hybrids or electric vehicles.  It is not sustainable to simply throw away all of our old cars and create a billion new, clean energy ones.

Luckily, if you drive diesel, you do not have to replace your vehicle or your engine to drive with renewable fuel.

With biodiesel, switching from diesel can be tricky.  There are chemicals in the biodiesel that are reactive to the diesel.  Therefore, biodiesel suppliers recommend emptying and clearing out the engine of all the diesel first, before pouring in biodiesel and not mixing the two.  In addition, biodiesel can be compromised by cold weather.  Generally speaking, biodiesel is usually about 20% renewable and 80% petroleum.   It pollutes less than regular diesel, but not significantly enough for us to recommend it.  Fortunately it is not your only option!

Another option, which is a bio-fuel better than diesel is diesel HPR (High Performance Renewable).  Unlike biodiesel, you do not have to do anything to your engine to prepare for the conversion.  Diesel HPR is completely compatible with regular diesel, which means that you are less likely to run out of gas on the road by having the option to mix the fuels in case of emergency.  It is unaffected by cold weather.

Propel-diesel-HPRDiesel HPR is cleaner than biodiesel with up to 98% renewable content.  It is made from renewable biomass including refined fats and oils.  It burns cleaner and more efficiently for smoother combustion and more torque for your rig!

According to Propel, the supplier of Diesel HPR;

The fuel can achieve a 40-80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to fossil diesel.

In addition, renewable diesel:

  • Reduces NOx emissions by 14%, PM by 34% & CO by 13% compared to petroleum diesel

  • Is sulfur-free, aromatics-free and virtually odorless

So if you are currently using diesel, make the switch today!

Currently, Propel has stations all over California.

If all those benefits were not enough, here is the icing on the cake:

Propel Diesel HPR is not only cleaner and better, but it is actually LESS EXPENSIVE.

Fuel up if you are traveling through the area, then when you run out of fuel, you can still put regular diesel, save money, and save the environment from some of the pollution of your drive with a full tank of premium, high performance renewable diesel.
